Seventh National Conference of BDERM

On 3rd December 2016 Bangladesh Dalit and Excluded Rights Movement (BDERM) organized its seventh council at National Press Club auditorium, Dhaka. That event lunched with a colorful rally and the rally marched from National Museum, Shahbag to National Press Club. Honorable Parliament Member (MP) Mr. Israfil Alam inaugurated the national council and BDERM’s general Secretary Mr.Bivutos Roy delivered the welcome speech. 
BDERM’s adviser and Nagorik Uddyog’s Chief Executive Zakir Hossain stated that, the dalit community did not get the deserved respect even after 45 years of liberation war in Bangladesh. He also urges the government to take full responsibility to give them a lifetime chance to live their life as a respected citizen. BDERM’s Vice President Moni Rani Das stated that, violence against dalit women will never stop until the proposed “Anti Discriminatory Law” officially passed by the parliament and she also added that, this act will as a safeguard for the disadvanced dalit community. As a President Mr.Sunil Kumar Mridha said, BDERM is working for the rights of disadvanced dalit community till 2008. He also urges the members to act together in every movement initiated by BDERM.
BDERM leaders from 50 District of the country took part at the council. District committee leaders shared the progress of activities of BDERM at district level and made the future plan of the movement. The leaders demanded for the enactment of Anti-discrimination Act as soon as possible. There were total 175 participants at the council.
